8ºB - Catarina Couquinha - Robin Hood
Robin Hood is a mythical English hero, a “thief" who lived in Sherwood Forest and stole the nobility (government) to give to the poor. He was helped by his friends “Little John” and “Friar Tuck “among other residents of Sherwood. He lived in the thirteenth century, liked to wander through the woods and cherished freedom. He was nicknamed “Prince of Thieves “.

This hero is not really a wandering thief who lives in forests. The story begins when Robin of Loxley, son of Baron Loxley, is a crossover and travels with King Richard to fight heretics. Prisoner, he escapes and returns to England. However, when reaching home, he realizes that many things happened. Taking advantage of the absence of King Richard, Prince John, the second direct heir, assumes his throne, raises taxes and kills Robin's father, also destroying his castle. Not having anywhere to live, Robin Hood finds a group of men who live in the forest and leads them on a battle against the prince. He wants to claim his noble position and also help those who have become poor due to the greed of John.

In this history, Robin Hood, who earns the nickname for wearing a hood (kind of hat with feather) defeats Prince John and marries Maid Marian, Richard’s niece.
